Women in Tech Luncheon: Unlocking Your Potential with Mentors and Sponsors

True staples of Acumatica’s Summit event are the highly anticipated eighth annual Women in Technology Luncheon and third annual Women in Tech Networking Reception! Both events will take place on Tuesday, January 28. The Luncheon, held in the Margaux 1 and Margaux 2 rooms at Wynn Las Vegas, will run from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM. The Reception, in Wynn’s XS Nightclub, will run from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM—followed immediately by the Summit Celebration Dinner and Party (7:30 PM to 10:30 PM) in the same space.

These valuable learning and networking opportunities are part of what makes Acumatica Summit such a unique and special experience—called the Event of the Year by the Globee® Business Awards for creating “an unprecedented sense of Community.”

This year, the Women in Tech Luncheon, titled “Unlocking Your Potential with Mentors and Sponsors,” will again be headlined by award-winning author, speaker, and founder of Tech Savvy Women, JJ DiGeronimo, who is returning for her third Acumatica Summit.

We will also feature a panel of tech leaders and career experts, Acumatica executives, and members of the partner and customer Community, including Nancy Harris, Leslie Boyd, and Jenni Arant. Nancy serves as Board Advisor and Non-Executive Director for Acumatica, bringing over 36 years of experience in the software industry to her role. Leslie is a Managing Principal of Industry in Acumatica Partner CliftonLarsonAllen’s (CLA) manufacturing industry group, and she has over ten years of public accounting experience, specializing in tax services. Jenni is the Chief Strategy Officer at Acumatica customer Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Inc., and she has nearly 30 years of experience in leadership, consultancy, and analyst roles.

These leaders and experts will present insights into the power of mentorships and sponsorships: how to gain them, nurture them, and use them to build your own personal Community of experts, supporters, and professional advocates. They’ll cover the key differences between a mentor and a sponsor, how to identify and approach the right mentors and sponsors, the key responsibilities of mentees and sponsors, and more.

To help you practically build the skills covered during the Luncheon, the Networking Reception will pursue the same theme of mentorship and sponsorship. JJ DiGeronimo will moderate the Reception, guiding attendees through this unique opportunity to build connections and put theoretical information into personal practice. We’ve also got some exciting new features planned, so stay tuned for more information! (An important note to remember: The doors to the Reception will close at 6:45 PM. So, if you want to attend, please arrive at 6:30.)

Empowering Future Women Leaders

The 2025 Women in Tech Luncheon and Networking Reception represent just one facet of Acumatica’s commitment to helping women build Communities of long-term, career-enhancing relationships.

In 2023, Acumatica began sponsoring professional LPGA golfers Jessica Korda and Lilia Vu. In 2024, we built on these sponsorships, partnering with the LPGA Foundation to present the Acumatica LPGA Scholarship, which will support female high school seniors who will be pursuing a full-time, STEM-focused education. Traditionally, women have been underrepresented in both golf and STEM, and Acumatica is dedicated to upending that paradigm. Two $10,000 awards will be given to two applicants, empowering young women to become the next generation of knowledgeable, innovative, and confident leaders.

As Martha-Lucia Groulx, Acumatica’s Chief People Officer, puts it: “We’re proud to partner with the LPGA Foundation to support educational pathways for women in STEM. We hope to inspire and empower the next generation of women leaders to seize new opportunities and make a lasting impact. This scholarship embodies our commitment to driving meaningful change in business and in the communities we serve.”

Acumatica also sponsored Women’s Leadership Day at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, which concluded the 2024 LGPA Tour season. This was a full day of opportunities for women to network, connect, and learn from other women who share their passion for success. Attendees engaged in a meaningful dialogue about leadership development strategies. Martha-Lucia Groulx delivered the introductory speech—announcing the Acumatica LPGA Scholarship and discussing the importance of diversity in the workplace. Nancy Harris was a member of the expert panel, which focused on building a successful personal brand.
