Amazon Alexa for Business skill; Acumatica Cloud ERP Connector for Microsoft Flow; Google Cloud Vision Product Search
Houston, TX, January 29, 2019 — Acumatica, the world’s fastest-growing cloud ERP company, today announced the beta release of its newest product, Acumatica 2019 R1, on the second day of its record-breaking Acumatica Summit. Chief Product Officer Ali Jani delivered the keynote, outlining the Acumatica product roadmap and user feedback mechanisms that guide development priorities. The company then unveiled a multitude of 2019 R1 demos highlighting product advances in usability, order management & inventory, financials, project accounting, and CRM. Industry-specific features and improvements were announced for Construction Edition, Manufacturing Edition, and Field Service Edition. Finally, the morning was rounded out by demonstrations of natural language search, machine learning, and workflow automation.
“We’ve continued to listen to feedback from our customers and partners since the release of 2018 R2 last fall, resulting in continuous refinement and improvement of Acumatica’s cloud ERP offerings,” said Jon Roskill, CEO, Acumatica. “This product release of 2019 R1 continues our independently-recognized industry leadership in usability and customer satisfaction across multiple business sectors.”
The announcement of the Acumatica Alexa for Business skill was among the day’s highlights. Acumatica VP of Platform & Technology, Ajoy Krishnamoorthy, demonstrated the usefulness of voice activated scenarios in business that Alexa for Business can fulfill, from looking up inventory, opportunities, and contacts to approving expense claims. It was clear from the audience response that Natural Language input to retrieve or insert data into an ERP system could improve end-user productivity.
Another announcement of interest was The Acumatica Cloud ERP Connector for Microsoft Flow. It allows employees to create and automate workflows and tasks across their favorite applications and services, sync files, get notifications, collect data, and much more, all without the assistance of developers.
A preview of Acumatica work in the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence fields was demonstrated that utilized Google Cloud Vision Product Search to lookup common items (in this case a pair of shoes) through a smartphone camera. Particularly in manufacturing and field service scenarios, this functionality holds great promise when searching for the right ingredient, component, or replacement part.
This year’s annual Acumatica Summit realized a record attendance of more than 1,500 customer, partner, media and analyst participants.
